The PicoPlus laser represents advanced technology, standing out among skin treatment procedures with its ultra-short picosecond pulses. Unlike other lasers with slower pulses, this technology does not cause skin burns, significantly reducing or even eliminating treatment complications.
Treatment Process
Before picosecond laser tattoo removal, the treated area is thoroughly cleaned and disinfected. Then, a local anesthetic is applied to minimize discomfort during the process. The laser light is passed over the skin, breaking the tattoo pigment into tiny particles without damaging the surrounding tissue. During the treatment, the skin is continuously cooled to reduce any possible discomfort. After the pico laser treatment, the skin may appear slightly red and sensitive, but these symptoms usually subside quickly. For safety reasons, the patient must wear protective eyewear during the procedure.

Is laser tattoo removal painful?
Usually, only a mild stinging sensation occurs, which is more uncomfortable than painful.
How many sessions are needed for laser tattoo removal?
Typically, 1 to 6 treatments are sufficient, but for cosmetic tattoos, a single session may yield results allowing for re-tattooing of the area. The exact number of treatments depends on the amount, quality, and color of the ink, the age of the tattoo, the number of times it has been tattooed over, and how deep the ink has penetrated. Additionally, the location on the body plays a role. Larger, more colorful body tattoos generally require more sessions.
When is laser tattoo removal not recommended?
The treatment is not recommended in the following cases:
- Eyelid tattoos,
- During pregnancy and breastfeeding,
- In cases of high blood pressure and heart problems,
- On scarred or mole-covered areas,
- On healing skin wounds,
- In the presence of active acne, eczema, or other skin conditions.

Can all tattoos be removed?
Almost all. However, white and light-colored inks, as well as green and yellow shades, are not effectively treated even with the most advanced laser technology, as the laser does not "see" these colors. Additionally, older, layered (multiple retouched) colorful tattoos may not be completely removed, and faint patches may remain on the skin.
How long does a laser tattoo removal session take?
The duration of the procedure mainly depends on the size of your tattoo: it can range from 1–2 minutes to as long as 30 minutes. You can even drop by for a session during your lunch break!
What is the healing process like after laser tattoo removal?
In most cases, recovery is quick and smooth: after a few days, you can return to your usual activities if you follow the post-treatment care instructions. Thanks to this, laser tattoo removal does not require a long recovery period.
